Brand x Strategy

Presented at SXSW 2019, Austin School for Design (AC4D) and CMBXP, this is an interactive lesson on the science of what makes a brand great. Good design can only go so far in the face of noisy, crowded markets and mercurial audiences. Join this session for a “master crash course” in strategic branding, where you’ll practice a framework for developing brands at the intersection of art, science, and efficiency. From competitive analysis, to naming and identity, to go-to-market planning, attendees will walk away with the tools to build a strategic brand in 5 key steps.


Brand x Culture

It’s easy to forget that brand is both an external and internal construct. But if you aren’t living the values your brand expresses, your customers and employees will notice. Hear from communication, diversity, and behavioral experts in an interactive experience that helps you better understand your existing company culture, and make steps to improve it by aligning to a co-created vision for the workplace. Through both individual and collaborative exercises, we’ll look deeply and honestly at cultural trends and challenges, celebrate positive values/norms/behaviors, and leave with a shared agreement for growing a culture that aligns with brand values and business goals.


Executive speaking

In a short series of private or group sessions, dramatically improve your public speaking skills and confidence. The pre-test phase constructs a baseline of your performance and evaluates 3 key areas: delivery, movement, engagement. Rehearsal, performance, and improvisation exercises hone these skillsets as participants gain confidence in their public personas. Each participant will leave with individualized cues for nailing their performance every time, as well as a process for self-critique to advance their public speaking fluency over time.
